Compact, stoutly built with distinctive rough, stiff, brittle hair. Colour varies from yellow and speckled with brown, bright golden yellow speckled with black. Tail is short, a mere stump. Only males have short horns that a nearly vertical, slightly curved forwards and ringed at base.
